I have a Discovery 1 200Tdi.
The gauge in the car sits half way when on tick over BUT when driving goes to the max with the red light. Then if you stop for 5min goes back to half way.
The water tank is cold but both pipes top and bottom connecting radiator and engine are hot.
Heaters in car work fine, hot when put on hot and cold when put on cold.
Had new Thermostat and viscous fan fitted.
Any ideas? Could it be electrical? Or Mechanical?
