200tdi gearbox choices

Hello all,which 5 speed is best for my fender ,it has got a 1990 disco 200tdi in place so I was wondering lt77 or r380 which do you think?

77s is meant to be best of the lt77, but still chews up 2nd synchro

who says that, g suffix the one before h suffix (s type )is a far better box ,has the wider gears but better 1st /2nd synchro sort and mainshaft

Its in the serial number, is stamped into the casing, probay under loads of mud etc.

it is stamped at the end of serial number on boss next to drain bung
