Hi, my 200TDi died yesterday (16/11/07). I will start but runs very jerky on tick-over. When you press the accelerator the engine momentarily revs but dies within a few seconds. I have changed the fuel filter and lift pump but it still will not go. There are no obvious signs of any fuel leaks. Just before problem I did an oil change and split a bit of oil over sides from the filler cap. There were no other symptoms and the engine seemed to run fine before this happened - Has anyone got any ideas ????? Cheers

long shot but have you got a good elec connection on the diesel pump

check it with a multimeter

failing that take the output fuel line from the deisel pump to the first injector off then turn it over see if it giving enough derv out etc..

let us know everything you checked so far so we can elimate all we can

If new pump already fitted undo bleed screw on filter and fuel should come out. If no fuel check fuel lines on the suction side for pin holes or blockage (sucking air) also remove the fuel pickup from the tank and check also look inside tank for anything which could cause the problem

Hi All

After further checking it would appear that the LR90 has a faulty diesel tank sender unit and despite showing 1/2 full the tank was infact empty. Egg on face or what!! Cheers for all the help
