Hi Guys.

I'm about at the end of the line with my 200tdi discovery. Its beginning to be a bit of a money pit now. Latest problem is head gasket blowing from rear of cylinder 4 in to the bulkhead. I think this is a expensive job to fix so I'm gonna through in the towel on it. My question is how much would I expect to sell it for in this condition it has 3 months test and 4 months tax and in reasonable cond for a L reg.

if you do decide to sell would you let me know. as reguardsdoing the cylinder head gasket it really is not too difficult as mentioned, lots of info on here how to do it just use the search system.

Done h/g on both disco's now. not a bad job, and like others have said rave or Haynes will show you the way. Angle gauge is a must, as you have 3 steps to follow on the 200tdi engine for the head bolt tightening

IIRC the bolt nearest the bulkhead cannot be removed while the head is in position. So you need to remember to that one back into the head and be careful when offering the head back on.

Lol thought it was. As for the head bolts I think there are two rear bolts that you can't get out because of the bulkhead. Also remember to put those same bolt/bolts back in before you offer the head back up. You may need to cut down a old 19mm socker to do the rear ones, or atleast I had to on my 300tdi, otherwise you can't get the angle gauge, and torque on as the scuttle panel fouls it
