You may have to have different coulping on the end of the power steering pipe and it needs to be longer (mine was a disco engine)

Hi 666 George, sorry I know this post is old but is exactly what I need to know at the moment! I have just put a 200tdi engine in my defender 90 and I am struggling to connect the power steering as the connector on the end of the pipe which attaches to the power steering pump (Screw in one) is too small for the hole. I don't know where to source the correct connector. I went up the scrappy today and removed the pipe from a 200tdi but although it is the right connection it is too small. I have trawled through previous 200tdi conversion threads and I don't seem to be able to find an answer. Very much appreciate any advice.
Many Thanks

Try Pirtek (Got mine done here) or Steve parkerhttp://www.steve-parker.co.uk/products.php?cat=213
Think you'll find other place's but this is a good start

As the PAS pumps are the same near enough, why not use the original one that was in there?

Hey there, I have just done this.
This so what I did.
I tried using the TD pas pump in place of the disco pump.
It fits, BUT, the pulley will not.fit to the TD pas pump.
So I tried using the TD bracket to fit the TD pump and alternator, BUT, not only does the alternator snag the turbo it is half inch back from the crank.
So eventually I used the disco pump and alternator and coupledthat with the td hi pressure pipe.
What you need is a large bolt that will fit into the back of the disco pas pump.
Once you got that, cut him down so he goes through the TD's pas pipe banjo, and you got space for washers and enough to go into disco pump.
Then drill down the shaft of the bolt al the way down till you practically in to head.
Then you need another oilway through the bolt.
With a round file file a spot near the head of the bolt where you ended you drill hole.
Then with the same drill bit drill across the shaft into the hole you just drilled.
Now of I make sense, you will have a bolt that resembles a banjo bolt. Oh by the way, don't drill all the way through the bolt or else it will become even weaker.
No all you do is force the td pas pipe round to attach on the back of the disco pump.
I ts a bit of a ****er. But will get you out.of the ****. And save a.packet at purtek.
I am lucky I have a friendly pipe an in newton so I will get him to make.me a pipe for cash;)

Thanks for all of your replies.
Vagrent, thanks for detailed info. Will have a look and attempt this mod as I have run out of easier options!
If I fail to do this you may hear me weeping like a small girl!!
This is the only thing stopping me from getting it on the road.
