hi guys, just got a new disco, lreg 200tdi, runs sweet as a nut, exellent condition for age too. it has got a recon gearbox, however the 1st and reverse seem to be very close together, but does engage gears perfectly when u get the stick in right place. also my friend who drove it home said that when he was slowing down for juction on the motorway and whent to gear up to 5th again the stick was quiet stiff, however is fine now ! ? any ideas ?

i was thinking of makeing a guide for it like they have on race cars. any other options & Ideas.

They are very light springs for the reverse, you just get used to it. My wife always puts mine in reverse untill she gets used to it again.

ok mate, my other was a 300tdi auto so not used to it lol. only insured today, will take it for a spin tomoro ! i guessed id get used to it tho lol hope the corsas behind me hav extra strong bumbers haha

just spoke to my friend who drove it home, he said after 50minutes of motorwaying at 7mph, when he went to gear down at the round about to come off, the gear stick went very stiff and would go into gear, but after jiggaling it a little bit all was fine, ??

I had the same problem when selecting reverse gear,so I bought a reverse sensor kit from my local auto shop, it was so easy to fit -even for me ! when reverse is engaged a buzzer sounds saving me the the embarrassment of bashing the vehicle behind!
