Doing an engine conversion on my 90. Putting a 200TDI disco engine in. Got all the conversion bits off Steve Parker Landrovers for hooking all the things up etc as it looks better ,and cant be arssed to **** about finding bits of hose etc. JUst pulled front off engine to put a cambelt kit on and found that the cambelt has run out half inch against the cambelt cover just like the 300 series engine. Have fitted about 12 conversion kits to the 300 series engine over the years but did not know the 200 series suffers from the same fault.Has anybody had this problem with the 200 series engine.Fitted dozens of belts to 200 series engines and not seen this problem before as I am a mechanic in a garage with 30 years under the belt, a lot of it on landrovers.
I know this sounds stupid asking this question but somebody might know something I dont.
