Hi there,
The DVLA equivilent in Norway wants to see the specs for the 200TDi without the turbo (as in my Sries III), would anyone be able to either supply these or know someone in Land Rover I can contact to try and get them.
Thanks in advance for any help

Regards

Fergus

I've emailed Richard and am waiting to see what hoops he had to jump through to get the conversion certified. Hopefully there is someone in LandRover who can fill in the blanks.

certified ? - what plannet are you from, he's a small garage owner who took the turbo off an engine and fitted it to a old landy - end of

there's far more chance of getting you certified than that engine

I really fail to understand the concept of removing the turbo from the best engine you could fit to a land rover.
This just shows how lazy and unimaginative people are when it comes to making engines fit.
Its hardly an 'upgrade' at all, he reckons it makes 85bhp, thats not worth putting in at all!

In a series it is, Nicer to curise, Don't strain the transmition, Better miles per gallon....

Not everything is about BHP....

just seems a waste of a good engine thats all. Nothing wrong with series transmission if its in good nick to start with. they are surprisingly strong and will cope no problem with a standard 200tdi.

To me, the DI makes a lot of sense and is probably the route we are going to go with both the Series landies. Basically it is less complicated to install and will for the rest of its life be an un-stressed engine. Yeah, 80-85BHP isnt going to be much noticeable difference in power (but supposdely the Di engine is quite torqey which would be nice) but I don't want to go any faster in my Series, or accelerate faster really, it's more than enough. But as said, it has other advantages, the main one being for me, 35MPG which will help greatly on expeditions.

It does make sense for a lot of people...and then once the turbo has been taken off...it can go to the TDi boys when theirs fails as well as being a chunk towards the cost of the engine :)

Thanks for all your comments. It looks like I'm just going to get it registered as an 2.5n/a...if I can..!!! Really do reccomend the 200Di engine though, it's perfect for a series although it is loud..!!
