Hi all, I have a problem with my 2007 RR sport 2.7 td, I have had a hand brake kit fitted for the mot got the car back and all seemed well, I noticed that the hand brake would come on when I took the key out and go off normally by the switch this was fine for a couple of weeks, then I noticed it was saying faulty handbrake and a warning light on the dash came on but turn the ignition off and on again cleared it for about a week, now this week everything seems to come on when I start it the temp gauge goes to the top and red light comes on with hazard lights wich you can't turn off,the engine stays running, if you turn it off it won't start again for a few attempts also now the handbrake has stopped working and suspension lights come on and you can't use the selection wheel any one else had this problem thanks in anticipation.

Plus 1 with regards to the battery, need to see what the voltage is, with the engine off and then again engine running , will cause untold issues of that battery isnt reading the correct voltages

Also wonder if they’ve accidentally caught a connector, back left hand wheel there’s a large connector , also where the EPB release cable runs under the heat shields then up into the cabin, there are a few cables that run from the gearbox etc

If they’ve just done it I would get them to look at it , if u get no joy the best place to start is, battery voltage and need the codes read

plus what did the handbrake kit consist off plse, did they touch the actual EPB module or just the brake shoes , EPB would have been put into service mode so was just curious what they did plse,

Plse let us know how u get on

Don't forget à battery can read 12.6v but it's CCA is also just as important.
I've à sport here with a 100ah 900cca battery but the reality is after a faulty earth and low charge problem it is really only 650cca.. And not as powerful as first thought. Having the battery tested will tell you if the CCA is upto scratch not just the voltage. ;)
Start with the last thing that was done ie the brakes and have the battery tested as well ;)

As suggested. Get the battery tested for performance, if it's 10% below it's rated capacity, then replace it.

It's also sensible to go back to the last item that was touched, being the EPB module in this case. A bad connection on the multi-plug can cause all sorts of issues.
I'm assuming the vehicle information was correctly configured for and in the new module, or there would have been an issue from the moment the new module was installed.

If I understand correctly (maybe)
The handbrake shoes were done?
Where they adjusted correctly and bedded in using the program? Maybe the adjustment is too fine or to loose.
Are there any squealing or squeaking noises from the rear brakes when maneuvering o_O

No the shoes weren't done it was the the whole handbrake mechanism, the garage that did this has come out with a snap on code reader, read all the codes and said it's the bcu scrambled need a new one , I have a code reader that I put on and it also got a load of codes which I cleared accept one and that was lost communication with handbrake turn ignition off and on again a lot of the codes are there again.

Not sure about that

No no noises

id check the plug on the handbrake unit.;)
Where abouts is the plug? I've put my diagnostic computer on it again cleared the dtcs then took the fuse off and no more codes except lost communication with handbrake module drives fine no codes everything working except for the handbrake , what do you think?

The plug that plugs into the handbrake actuator. In front of the spare wheel between the chassis and body. Maybe that's not been plugged in properly causing a none coms issue maybe or as said à trapped and damaged wire.
