Morning all,

Im about to take the plunge and buy a RR Vogue, but I'm a little confused about whether its a MY2006 'facelift' version or whether its a had a front end conversion.

The car was registered 28th April 2005, so on a '05 plate. It has the slightly larger LCD on the dashboard (mileage, gear indicator, etc) which i believe is common the the '06 facelift. The seller states the car doesn't have the reserve camera, which i thought was standard on MY2006 cars?

Question is - Are there any other indicators i can use to detect which MY the car is?

FYI - The car has FSH, receipts for gearbox service, is on 97k mileage and apparently all electrics (heated seats, wheel, reach/ rake, windows, etc...) work.

Thanks in advance all

Touchscreen sat nav is another indicator. and not all had reversing cameras.

If it has the different instrument cluster than I am sure it would be the facelift model as the different cluster isnt compatible with the earlier electrickery

That's great! And thanks for the quick reply.

The car appears solid and unmolested, 2 owners from new with compete service history, inc gearbox service receipt, although the seller has noted recent knocking in the front which according to his local garage is ball joints and tracks rod ends.... I'd be looking to change the both fronts. Any idea if this is a costly repair? And am I missing anything obvious if I go to see the car?

Things I've questioned so far and all come back with, 'yes all working' are:

Air suspension works
Reach rake heated s/wheel
Windows
Gearbox ok/ services
Drivers door rest good

Not yet had responses back regarding:
Any dead pixels/ sat nav issues

Any other burning questions I should ask?

Thanks for the support

You can just replace the bushes in the track rod ends without changing the whole lot. My local garage did this for my M O T. The bushes are only a few pounds and is a small
Job for decent mechanic. Or get a polyurethane bush kit and get the lot done. Thinking about it myself.

Bushes in track rod end's ? think you have got your track rods mixed up with something else.

I understand the seller (maybe wrong here as he sounds a genuine person) said that the bushes by the ball joints maybe perishing and that also track rod ends may need replacing.

I prob won't tackle this myself but hoping an inde garage won't hurt the wallet too much

Ball joints and track rod ends are the same thing!!!!

The L322 uses tie rod ends that screw into the steering rack, these do wear like all other ball type joints.

The independant suspension on the L322 uses upper and lower control arms and these wear with grave regularity esp. the rears as she is a big arsed girl.

The anti roll bushes and the drop links also wear so expect to replace those too.

Wear can be heard initially as squeeking and then as knocking and grumbling.

I'll book her in for a fresh MoT on Friday and pre warn the garage to order parts in for the front sus
