2005 Td6 Vogue Gear Box

hi has anyone had a recon gear box fitted to this model? Any problems things to check? How long will it last car has done 54K and it went last week? LR wanted £4.5k for recon but getting it done cheaper elsewhere...

Jesus that cars had a hard life!.Get whoevers fitting it to give you a warrenty with it.How much will depend on them tho

i know little about the history of the car, would the gear box going be a sign of it being used for towing?

yes auto, getting it done by wavertree autos in london for £1600+VAT with 12month warranty.

that dont sound too bad to me.If it was towing a lotry in high range then that might trouble the gear box, didnt get it off old bill or the highways agency did you(espeshialy with that milage)?
