Spoke to a very helpful chap in Harrogate that repairs LCM's and although mine is not one he can repair he spent quite a while educating me in the world of LCM's.
Apparently the one I took out was a YWC500280 which he thinks is wrong, the one I replaced it with is a YWC000540 which is also wrong and not worth messing around with. He suggested I look for a YWC500281 which will be easier to code if required. I had a search on fleabay and found a "Headlight Control Module Ecu YWC500281 05 Range Rover L322 Facelift" so now it seems I have a FFRR built in 2004, registered in 2005 and may have a factory fitted facelift.

This is the mid-life facelift (also known as the 2006 facelift)

New LCM fitted and all seems good. I even found a use for my Venturcam.
Unfortunately this one will not let me change the VIN or Mileage, maybe I need to drive a few miles first. I will have another read of the code and see if it changes in line with the mileage increase.

After a week of searching and finding nothing on the tinterweb figured this may help someone, someday, somehow.

Stored for future reference.

Code for YWC500281 fitted to L322 Vogue TD6 2005 facelift.

Thanks to everyone for their input, not only have I learnt a bit about LCM's, I have also learnt that cake can be used as currency, and that I have bought the most confused model of L322 available (unless you know different)

Most fattys 2004 - 2007 (dash facelift) can be made up of who ever was in charge on the day !

JLR still used the BMW key (till 2008/9) and remote fob system uptill the 2010

i have just bought her and put a brand-new battery on, so have not checked the car starts and drives fine, what should the voltage be and what should i be looking for cheers

im new to these and when engine is on and i look at the 4x4 screen it shows 4 wheels and 3 of them are flashing red does this mean the height sensors are faulty, it shows 2 front and passenger side rear flashing red, and i will check battery later as car is parked on my brother drive at bolton. cheers for all your help much appreciated cant wait to get her on the road.

could be faulty or could need calibrating.
Where is the green line in relation to the orange wheel centers? pic's of your screen are useful
Is the car sitting level at normal ride height?

hi when i got the car on the trailer it was at normal ride height i plugged my ediag in to try and lift the car to have a look underneath, this was a week later once i got her back, but she dropped and would not come up as it says it has hdc fault suspension fault and both light were always on well the normal ride height and lower height setting on the switch permanently on. i think the green line is at the bottom and were you have the white lines at the top of the wheels my front 2 and rear left are flashing red, i will nip up and take a pic and put it up later.
