iv already changed the fuel filter 8 months ago an local garage confirmed all filters are clear?
come on sum 1 must had similar problems im getting desperate now lol

If the Lp pump runs OK you need to check for possible pressure loss, do an injector leak off test with engine cranking and injectors disconnected and report back.

This link is to a How to for the leak back test on a Rover 75, it's the same M47R BMW diesel engine, so apart from access beinng easier in a Freebie (we have one of each) the process is the same :)

Rimmer Bros are good, phone them tomorrow, you'll have the part Friday at the latest, prices are comptetive as well and guaranteed to be original kit :)

It'll be an expensive guess wherever you get one. Always carry out free test/fault finding first.

Injector leak test costs nothing but time.....

If the engine will run on a little easystart then it could be the cam sensor, or less common the crank sensor.

Second to that, leak back test = free and reasonably quick, can of freeze spray is about a fiver.

From memory I paid about £38 quid for my cam shaft sensor from Rimmer's, that's delivered.

The freeze spray could be useful for other things as well ;)

thanks everybody 4 replys!
will take cam sensor off again an buy sum freeze spray? halfrauds?
will also do injector leak test an get back 2 u 2morrow with an update

rite iv freeze sprayed the cam sensor with no joy
gonna do the leak test on injectors an will report back in abit

im back again.
rite this is were im up 2.
cam sensor removed freeze sprayed replaced still no joy.
injector leak test followed the procedure for the mg as linked above an no leaks from injectors:)
question when iv removed the hose that goes into the top of all 4 injectors how much diesel should come out of this when i turn ignition on if any because none came out of mine, could this be linked?
i can also still hear the pump under rear arch an somethings turning in engine bay is ther anything else other than the hp pump that makes a noise?

hi, my lp pump (behind o/s wheelarch) failed a few months ago and it just wouldn't start, this is the primer pump from the tank, gave it a tap with a hammer and it fired straight away, it lasted around 3 weeks before it failed again so i just hit again and carried on for another couple of weeks, until i made the mistake of buying a cheap one off ebay, i cant stress this enough that if your going to replace the pump get a genuine LR one which you should be able to pick up for around £130 ish, this non genuine one just buzzes VERY loudly all the time, at first i just thought it was a faulty unit so i sent it back and then bought another cheap one from a different guy on ebay and it sounds just the same, it has cured the not starting but i expect it isnt going to last long so i will be buying a genuine one very soon YOU BUY CHEAP - YOU BUY TWICE, i think thats the motto to use in this case.

I dont think you should get any diesel out of the pipe just by turning the ignition on, the HP pump is engine driven (as posted by one of the clever bods above), try putting the pipe into an empty bottle and spinning the engine over, that should see some diesel in the bottle as the HP pump will have been working (if it's working) when the engine turned over, no diesel in the bottle after a few seconds of cranking and you have a prime suspect.

should have had some fuel from the return line if you didn't clamp it.

you could remove Lp supply pipe from the Hp pump and see if you get anything from there when ignition first turned on. (pump times out after 1min.)

take care though if Lp pump is working it should **** out.

would giving this pump a tap start it 4 a bit?
were am i supposed 2 tap it?

thanks again 4 all your replys
im determined 2 get to the bottom of this
