First i will introduce myself

My name is René and i live in the Netherlands.

I've had several Range Rovers in the past and love the information on this forum when having a problem.

Well, this time its a big problem i think...

I've bought a 2005 RR Sport 4.2sc wich was flooded.

Water was coming as high as the bottom of the dash.

Its a beautifull car so i want to try fixing it.

I allready cleaned all the connectors... checked all the wiring on the floor, and under the car.
I've checked and cleaned all the ground points.

Bought an ecm with key and immobilizer and also the bcm

Later on i read that the bcm , ecm and instrument cluster have to match.

I can read codes with the original modules and got a lot of lost communication codes.

I think i will have to buy all modules from 1 parts car so that everything will match.

But here is a strange thing:
Even if i disconnect the ecm or the instrument cluster...the hazard lights will stay on. The key fob works and the door locks also

Is it possible that the car is in crash mode ? And wich module is controlling that ? The bcm ? Or is there another alarm module or something that i did not found yet ?

Welcome:).

can’t really help, but I do hope you get it sorted.
There really are so many electronic boxes and connectors it’s hard to say where to start.

with your lost comms codes do they start as “U” ? I get them and ignore them for good or bad it’s never been a problem….yet:).
Crash mode should only register in its brain and should disable easy.

Good luck :)

Can the light control module make that the car don't start ?

If i connect the battery the hazard lights and the park/rear lights are on.

Do you know where the light module is located?
Maybe i missed it

Does anyone knows a good adres in the uk where i can buy the parts like bcm , instrument cluster, trans module and ecm ?

In the netherlands i can not find it. L

It might be worth checking if all these module have to be configured for your project car. If so, your in for a challenge unless you have the software to do it kiddoo_O

Thank you Mark

I don't have the tools for it so i'm looking for a good junkyard who can provide me all the modules that are dissambled from 1 car.

Do you know a good adress for it maybe ?

You're a brave man, taking that on.
You need to be aware that you're in for some serious work, and may not ever get it fixed, without a total rewire and full replacement set of modules, and I mean total replacement.
Here in the UK, insurance companies simply scrap cars, even brand new ones if they're flooded, as too many electrical components are now coded to each other, which makes a even new car uneconomical to repair.

You'll also need JLR dedicated diagnostic software called SDD, which it pretty much the only software that can code new electronic modules to the vehicle.

It doesn't stop at the electrical system either, as flood water will get into engines, gearboxes, brake components, wheel bearings, differentials, everywhere.
Do the maths before spending a small fortune on a flooded vehicle, as things can get expensive fast, bearing in mind that an RRS isn't cheap to maintain or repair, even if it's not been in a flood.

However if you feel you need to send your money up in smoke, then Gentleman Of Salvage have a good reputation.

Thanx for your concerns

Engine, trans brakes etc are ok
Only things that are damaged are the modules
Wiring i have checked en is ok.
I'm a mechanic and its not a big job for me. With these things you mus be patience and go step by step.

So if anyone has other suggestions about where i can get the parts, please let me know.

There are lots of breakers yards in the UK so Google is your friend.
