2005 Range Rover Sport just died!

Hi,

I've just bought a 2005 Range Rover Sport HSE and have had it about a week. It was driving fine then yesterday I parked it up at home and turned the ignition off and removed the key. I went to move it literally 1 minute later, tried to start it up and it's completely dead apart from the interior light pulsing!

It had been fine all day, no warning lights, nothing. Has anyone seen this before?

Sounds like the battery is fecked as maybe the Alternator isn't charging it...

Private purchase or from a dealer...

If dealer seek redress from them!!

bad earth connection from battery, battery duff, ign. switch failure, main fuse corroded or failed.

That does sound like the alternator. They instantly drain the battery when they go.
I was sitting at traffic lights in rush hour, then everything off in a instant.

Maybe, like washing machines, they are programmed to die at 7 to 10 years old.

Thanks for the advice everyone. It was from a dealer who is being less than helpful!!

At least now I've got a direction to point him in!

Keep us posted. If the dealer doesn't stand by you if it's in warranty name and shame
