2005 Range Rover 3.0 TDI

I am having problems with the tailgate lock - when you unlock it with the tailgate button either on the key fob or the dashboard you get a juddering from the lock and it does not unlock correctly, if you unlock the car then you can undo the boot... does anyone have any suggestion on how to resolve this please??

would a bit of wd in the lock not help?

Hi Gave that a go but has not made any didderence!!

try removing the 2 locks, one either side of the tailgate, soak them i diesel for a few hours whilst manually locking and unlocking the with a screwdriver.

Dry them and give a squirt of WD, refit and test.

This worked fine on mine and been no probs for 9 months.

Think it is the top tailgate lock that is giving me the problem - having checked the bottom two as suggested they appear to be working fine. Any suggestions for the top on Bob??
