L322 2005 bluetooth

Hi all,

I know this is likely to prompt lots of "what do you need Bluetooth for" but in my job, I often spend hours on the road where being able to speak with clients can be very important.
My relatively new to me l322 is a 2005 with the ajv8 and according to gap iid it has Bluetooth fitted and enabled, however, if I search for the Bluetooth on my phone nothing shows up.
Bluetooth module in boot appears to be powered up but the screen just shows "no phone"
Any suggestions most welcome!

I could be wrong but I think for that age you need 'the' compatible phone. Your bluetooth smart phone may be too smart for it . There is someone who knows more about these things but cant quite remember who. Might be @kds

I see the lovely young lady @gold rover has tagged me, I think you will need to upgrade the bluetooth module for your phone to work (not 100 per cent sure on it) sorry to point you somewhere else but if you have a look over on fullfatrr wiki section under electronics there is little bit that maybe of help to you.

what you may find is that the Bluetooth module is shot. they often get water / moisture damage. you may need a replacement. check the part number on it

here's the link to the Bluetooth specialist on the subject. some can be upgraded or you can replace certain module numbers with others. best to check with him. then the enduring solution is to wrap the BT module in a plastic bag. I have mine in a zip lock freezer bag zipped up, with a bag of silica gel

I see the Bluetooth exchange guy is only in Manchester so I'll give him a shout and see if he can help.
There's no signs of any water ingress at the back so hopefully will be an easy fix!

Rip it out, fit an xtrons unit. have a nice new android head unit.
