Freelander 1 2004 TD4 wheel arch access/inspection panel

I noticed that the access/inspection panels in the front wheel arch plastic linings were missing on my car.
I have a couple of replacements which appear to just slot in place. They didn't come with any fixings and don't feel all that secure when just slotted in.
Anybody know if they should be secured with any fixings?

There is a couple of slot grooves for press studs once in to secure the panel. I know I snapped mine for the indicator bulb replacement

As above. A scrivet goes in one of the holes to stop it sliding up and dropping out.
