been out today and changed from r to d fast (2004 td5 es premium) and got the M and S lignt on to find po705 fault code what should i test first ( as im off to france next week towing a twin wheel caravan)

Be a little more gentle with it. Ours does it if you are too rough switching between reverse/drive and vice versa.. swich engine off, restart and the lights go out alls fine, never comes on in any other circumstance so never been worried about it.

That's how it started. From r into d fastish Iv cleaned it up checked wiring ect haven't tryed to adjust it yet but still got the fault so it's looking like a new switch

Have you cleared down all the old faults??

check the wiring very carefully for any chafing. thats what caused mine to throw M&S wobblies!

Well checked the old one again adjusted it been out for a drive and cannot get the m and s light on hawkeye still saying invalid in every gear when you change from park , d , r ,1 , 2 , 3 ect so should I change the switch or leave it

Mine gives the invalid response, but since i sorted out the chafed wires and adjusted it up I have had the lights on twice in six months, both times cleared by switching off and on again.

Each time it has logged a fault, but clearing this leaves it all fine.

Given the cost for the switch I would leave it as long as it works!
