2001 p38 2.5dse alpine radio problem

Hi,

I have bougt a 2001 p38 6 months ago,
it has the alpine harman kardon radio worked brilliant untill few weeks ago .
(HK 6 cd player system, NO sat nav )

What happend :

After a 12 hour stop my battery was drained without lights on or so,
Jump started the car ok.

But after the drained battery my radio came on but the buttons on the radio
and the steering wheel won't work, but radio played as in its last fm post and
last used volume . Also evry time i turn off the contact now there is a bong from the rear woofer.

Now so radio buttons won't work after start , but when drove a few miles it worked back and
kept working until been parked back , after cold starts same sympthons...

Now sinds yesterday , radio buttons won't work at all and radio was stuck on a fm post an a fixed volume,
. Have already in the past taken radio out and put it back without problem, also took out fuse and placed back, and it don't ask for the radio code.

Now i'm guessing what could be the problem ?

And does anybody know if i have 1 large amplifier or 1 amplifier in each door ?

Really loved the sound system en would like to have it playing back like it should be !
But now its a bit of a wild gues what should be the problem..

Any advice of someone who had simular problems ?
Have been reading a lot of p38 radio problems but the more i read the
less i know whats wrong with mine

Incorrect application of boost leads can do damage to the ECUs and anything that is switched on at the time. On petrol engines the positive goes to the battery and the negative is grounded to the engine NOT the battery.
