2001 Disco 2 TD5 Driver demand fault

Local landy guy has just been round with his testbook and is getting the same as me. He also tried it on another one in his workshop with the same results i.e. 0v supply. The fault did however go away in so far as it would rev with a misfire before the fault came back.
This to me would rule out the TPS but I am going to have to try it just to rule it out, only problem is they are £281 new so looking around the local breakers as I don't want to spend that amount of money on a whim.

WTF. Just been out and tried it again and it's running perfectly. I'm now thinking the battery wasn't charged enough. I also jiggled the wiring loom where it goes across the front of the engine and around the aircon pump but don't think that's what cured it.
Anyways I've got the battery on charge so hopefully will give it a run later.

Seems to be runnng ok now, had a few trips out to the shops and a 20 mile run with no issues. It's amazing how a battery can start a car 20 - 30 times but not be charged enough for the ecu's. Cheers for the info, I'll have a look at these just incase.

I doubt that it was a battery issue... i'm affraid it's an intermittent fault and it will come back, as long as the engine was running and the fault was logged it can't be battery related cos then the alternator is in charge

The M&S lights initially came on as the car started, but then they came on as soon as I turned the key. I had a meter on the battery while the engine was runnng and I could see the voltage slowly rising. Also while I was measuring pin 14 on the ecu there was nothing until the battery got to 13.9v. Agree there may be some other issue but as the car had hardly moved for 2 weeks I know the battery was low. I am going to put a voltmeter inside the car so I can see what it says if/when it happens again.
