Hi all,
I am having a bit of a mare of a time at the moment, I am looking for a second hand sensibly priced 200TDi or someone local to Dorset that can rebore mine.
I have an old 90 and took out the engine a couple or three years ago as it was starting to smoke a bit now and then and replaced it with a second hand unit from ebay. A few weeks ago it also started playing up which turns out to be piston ring failure so I decided to repair the old engine. I got 3 of the 4 injectors out for servicing but the the 4th one wouldn't budge resulting in head off and beat it out from the other side which is all done and dusted.
I was somewhat horrified when I took the head off only to find perfect imprints of all 8 valves (clearly a cambelt failure in previous ownership) more worryingly were the cracks in the pistons and the wear in one of the bores.
Just been on a 4 hour round trip to pick up a 'perfect' block as advertised again on ebay only to find that it is also in need of a rebore.
Can anyone help with a rebore or engine that I don't have to spend silly money for?

Rebuild what you have yourself.
A decent machine shop can do all the boring and may even put the short block together for you.
