probably not, but i'd replace it if it looks bad, save you grief in the future.
 
In that case I'll wait, see if can fix white smoke first. Don't want spend a few quid then find out it's compression

i can't tell how bad it is, only you can, but you did mention the filling of the tank, so i suspect that it is knackered.

go stick some clear pipe between the lift pump and fuel pickup pipe and see if you get and air in it.
 
Take a photo of the injector nearest the bulkhead and post it here.

The black pipe with the kink in the end hanging loose near the fuel filter is prob the leak off return pipe. If thats the case, your gonna get air locks. Show me the last injector first.

Steem from the engine oil filler a bad sign? Presvious owner seemed honest, starting to get the feeling he knew was something on way out
