200 TDI Gearbox Problem

I Have a 1995 200 TDI ... All the Gears and Syncros are Good ... I Just have a a problem selecting them ... ! The gearbox is sloppy from left to right and makes the gears hard to find ... Is this a common problem ? Is there a service Kit available ? Does the gearbox have to come out or can it be done from above , i have all the stick and housing out already ? ......

Sounds like a cracked bias plate. Search for "bias plate" on this forum should come up with more info.

It can be replaced from the top without removing the gearbox. Part number for new bias plate is FRC9340.

Might also be worthn replacing the springs while it's all in bits, they are also known to snap ...

One Bias Plate Fitted ..... Problem Solved ..... Thankyou thankyou thankyou as i thought the box had to come out ( As my Local Dealer Advised and Said " The Box is Nackered ! " )
