today i bought a set of solenoids as i had checked the actuator and that was switching the voltage over at the turn of the key i only fitted new solenoids as mine does not have key fob or control unit i thought everything would be ok
after i got to 4th solenoid noticed smoke fuse not blown but now all solenoids burnt out so would this be faulty actuator or because i am lacking control unit
94 200TDI 5 door
will now have to lean over and unlock wifes door again whilst i save up beer tokens
any advice would be appreciated

Go to maplins and buy their central locking kit - disconnect the module under the dash wire the kit in using the existing loom - did mine over xmas and have had no problems - i only replaced the faulty actuator on the passengers door the others are still original.
