Are they physically the same? I Have a 200 tdi and the axle casing is really rough and rusty. I have the chance of an axle from a 300 tdi which i'm hoping to clean and build up in my shed ready to fit along with new springs and shocks etc. Are all the brackets etc the same. Would it be best to utilise the 300 shafts and diff or keep the 200 parts

TIA, Dave

Pretty sure they are exactly the same save the diff pinion being a 4 bolt uj on the 200 whereas most 300s were the 3 bolt donut. I think all coil landies bar td5 on disco are interchageable. I think even tdci defender is same rover axle. I fitted fender td5 trailing arms on my 300 exactly same. Use the 200 diff and or pinion and the 200 rear prop to get rid of the donut.....

Older fender drum brake axles would not be a straight swap

earlier 200tdi cases will have imperial caliper bolt threads, and may not have roll bar brackets but basically the same, its best to leave as 300 or 200
