200/300 difference?

Hi. I have a standard M reg V8 Discovery, although its a V8 I presume it would be refered to as the 300.

I have been trying to find a couple of aftermarket bits for it on ebay and have found a few problems. I want a Bull bar (the type that wraps around the lights) and a set of side steps.

I brought a set of steps and some brackets 2nd hand and Have tried to fit them but cannot see where the brackets mount?

I brought a Bullbar that was for an early Range Rover as I was told it would fit, but it didn't. I saw a Discovery Bullbar on ebay near to me and sent the guy a message confirming it would fit mine. His reply was that he had brought it for his M reg Discovery and it did not fit so he thinks its for the 200 series.

Can someone clarify that the 200 and 300 use different accesories.

A friend of mine has an M reg discovery,alledgedly a 300,but it appears to be a mix of 200 and 300 parts....maybe yours is too?

Check your log book, or even the grill unless it's been upgraded 200 series LR badge in middle on 300 series badge is at side other things like wots the dash like etc will answer your question. ie were is the radio in it if it's near gearstick it's a 200, in middle of dash it's a 300.

Its definately a later 300. Thats not in question, I need to know why I cant find a Bullbar to fit when there are plenty on ebay and someone else told me they are having the same issue? Is the 200 front behind the bumper and the underside behind the sills different on them?
