If you mix it with doozil you should be able to run a series off it if that is what you mean...

I have been given 10L of waxoyl that must be 20 years old, tins have never been opened. Do you reckon it goes off?
Tins still have the Halfords £9.99 stickers on them
Guess they will Need a good mix but hoping it is still useable
Any thoughts?

heat them first to make them more liquid.

I think the old stuff will be better as it had more noxious ingredients in that the newer stuff doesn't.just like the old creosote was fantastic the New water based stuff isn't worth using.

off topic here now -
I used whats now called creoCote, but mixed with good black used diesel engine oil on my wooden fences. I almost poured a coat on about 3 months ago
but never done the last 3 panels on my noo not yet finished drive as there being changed for taller ones..
the other day I was out in the pouring rain, and looking at my painted fence to see the water just forming globuals and running off, while the unpainted fence next to it was just soaking the rain up !
Prooves to me it works

Jolly good. I too have been known to use used oil as a timber preservative. Gives a nice patina too, like antique furniture. If you've got a big enough container, posts can be stood in it prior to going in the ground which stops them going soft quite so quickly.

I pulled out all my old wood posts after being in mostly sandy/essex clay for 10 years, all had been left standing in my creocote/oil mix prior to being "planted"
most of them are still so good I could have used them again,
if they had been taller.

I keep meaning to create a business so I can pretend to be a trade customer and buy real creosote as it is still available to professionals. A couple of these 1000 litre containers would probably last me the rest of my life. Creosote supplier - Real traditional coal tar creosote supplied for professional use only In the meantime I'll stick to engine oil.

I been using very old waxoyl on me disco.. Its good stuff but the top bit of the tin was rusted n bits went into the wax so it kept on blocking the sprayer..

could have warmed it up a bit then run it through a thin cloth to strain it praps...
I do all my box sections and chassis once a year with waxoil,
but do it in the heat of the summer so its lets it "creep" into water traps
(like between welds an stuff)
but I do it after re Shutzing the outer chassis/floors and stuff first.
I think it all helps
just beware of runny "snot" like cold waxoil seeping downwards in very hot days

I did warm it up n tried to filter it through a fine meshed funnel.. You should of seen the bloody state i got in.
