I've started doing the engine change aswel now at work in my spare time, much easier when you can pull it to work and have use of all the tools at work out of hours !

Can anyone tell me what's the easiest way to get the box out ??

I've undone everything and was hoping just to pull it forward, but it keeps getting stuck and I've now jammed in place

Passenger door off and floor out is a common way to extract the gearbox. If you took the gearbox crossmember off you might be able to wrangle it out forwards, or just drop it down to the floor.

I take it all the floor unbolted then easy Enough ??
I've took the center part of the tunnel out around the gear stick, but it's not enough.
How much do I have to take out ? All the seat bases/boxes and battery box ?

No, just take out the crossmember under the gearboxes and lower it to the floor (you need the middle panel off the seatbox too). I use a skateboard to get it out from there.

When you say the middle panel off the seat box, so you mean the panel that's under my center storage box ? (Normally where the middle seat would be ?)
I've got it right jammed at the moment ! Tried to pull it out still bolted to the engine, but now it's stuck well and truly !
It's come forward and one of the back mounts on the box (on the drivers side) is jammed on the mount on the chassis.. It's come out of its home, but the back of the box is slightly higher at the back and all moved over to the right.

Yes, that panel under where the middle seat might be lets you get something around both boxes to lower them. I presume that you're taking the gear and transfer boxes out together, so it's helpful - you can struggle from underneath but above is easier. You know that the chassis crossmember is removable? If that's the one it's catching on - take it out. 8 bolts.

Full floor and seatboxes out will give you enough room to lift it out, but if you can raise the vehicle enough it may be easier to drop it once you have a strop around it and can lower it gently. Depends what tools etc. you have. If it's on big tyres you may only need to raise it a few inches to get it out from below.

What's up with the engine?

Still runs but little end knocking on it and it's smoking it's cock off and using load of oil and fuel and it's down on power.
Gonna do it, thought I'd pull it out before it throws a rod out of the side and it's no good then.
I bought another Engine a few months back for it,

It came out of a narrow boat !
Just need to put my turbo on it as the elbow has been modified for the boat, plus swap the conversion plate off mine for the gearbox.
Should be a nice sweet engine, it's not as if it's gonna have been revved like mad in a barge !
So gonna throw this one in and strip mine right down and put bigger Pistons in it out of something else and do a load of work on the head.
I build all my engines, I just don't get them done as fast as like like to due to working all day on engine, so I don't want to come home and mess around with my own !
I dragged it to work and put it in the compound there tho so I can just have an hour on it each day on my dinners. It's took me all of a week to get it out having an hour here and there on it.
This was my last build on my 4G63 Evo engine, took me nearly 2 years to finish this one off ! Lol

Spend a right few quid on that one

Very nice indeed
Put 3 grand into that engine, the HKS rods were £1100 alone without the Pistons !
Good for 800Bhp with the right turbo, but got it running safe at a healthy 460hp which is more than enough !
Will post some more pics of my engine change as I do it, but need to get the box out now before it go any further, no pint in just putting the engine in, I've got a few whines in the transfer, so gonna bolt a discovery transfer to it and have a look in the box while I'm at it
