need to remove the vibration damper to fit bee timing chain, my question is, is the nut a standard or reverse thread.

Standard as engine rotates same way as other landrover engines.
Usuall trick is to put a spanner on that you can wedge on chassis and flick the starter motor with the diesel supply isolated to loosen, provided you have not already stripped other parts of timing.
