Hi,

Any help will be fantastic I have exhausted my knowledge and searching Google so time to ask the experts.....

I have a 19J (I know) ...

Runs great for 15 mins then loses power and runs like a dog till she eventually goes to about 30 mph. It starts fine (well as expected)

Checks I have done so far:
  • Re-checked timing on pump/cams etc - all good!
  • Replaced fuel filter
  • checked boost diaphragm on pump and fine
  • checked fuel lines - all clean
  • Tank breather ok
  • removed air intake to turbo, all clear and doesnt fix, turbo spins up ok
  • Checked solenoid on pump - all ok, even sealed and ran without
  • Compression tested hot & cold all between 410 & 485.
  • Flushed cooling system
  • Confirmed oil level is ok
The cooling pipes do get fairly hard when warm which suggests pressure, however, no bubbling or oily residue in the water, even drained system to check!

So, I am at a loss - I suspect Head Gasket, maybe cracked pistons, thought the compression readings suggest not the case??

Gettign greyer by the minute...

Neil

Daft I know but I had a mini that had this symptom, the vent in the fuel cap was blocked and a vacuum built up in the tank that stopped the fuel pumping through, best of luck.

Head gasket should have come up when it was pressure tested.
What's the condition of your oil like?

How much Crank Shaft Pressure have u got from ya filler cap. Sounds like when it warms up, engine components start to expand which means if you have got a cracked piston crown or 2 which my engine had then that could be ya problem. But check to see how much Crank Shaft Pressure u have when warm and cold.

Hope that helps buddy
