2.5na battery cable help

Hello

I’m trying to remove the engine side positive battery cable so i can install a new one. How the heck do you get to the starter motor? Any tips or tricks for getting the cable off?

If it is anything like my 200tdi there are two options, lots of long fiddly extensions, or take the manifold off. Neither are easy but that is the only methods I know of.

I have just done this, I only had to take the inlet manifold off, nice and easy, 4 bolts, 2 nuts and a jubilee clip.
