Yet another chapter in the unending saga of my 110/2.5D engine swap...

Got the engine back together after replacing a piston with a broken ring. All set, oil in, water in...what's that noise?

Water running in volumes from the join between head and block at the back right. :(

BUGGER! BUGGERBUGGERBUGGER!

So, off with the head (again!) to find a perfect head gasket and nothing obstructing the seating.

Howwever, I did notice at the point of the leak a core plug which had been previously covered completely by the old head gasket but was not by the new Payen gasket. What engineering genius puts core plugs on a block/head mating surface?

So, I suspect given the volumes of water that were coming out of the leak and its position that this core plug was bad. I am...annoyed.

Question for the assemblage is this - how likely is it I've found the issue - has anyone ever seen this - and is this just a common 18MM core plug or is there some insane reason i should buy rel LR one...

Right about now a Jeep is starting to look VERY good...

I had same thing when I first put mine together but it was down to me not tightening the bolts down gradually. I hope it is just the core plug, it is a good sturdy engine.
