Morning all. on the way to work this morning I was greeted with a shuddering, underpowered Diesel halfway through my commute - i'd fractured a Diesel injector pipe (#1).

Now I am a bit conceerned - as this pipe was replaced no more than a month ago as the original 20-odd year old one had broken.

i know Diesels do this, but I am more than a little concerned at the frequency. i may just have had a crap replacement (unlabeled and not in a package) but the replacement is of the same batch...bought both at the same time.

Talk to me, folks...a bit concerned here.

Alan

they are routed right arent they and not under any undue stress or twist or anything? That could fracture them due to engine vibrations

Do they have the supporting clamps holding the pipes together?

Mine has one large clamp on all 4 pipes at the bottom and two smaller clamps holding the pipes in pairs at the top. The clamps are coated in rubber. I believe their purpose is to dampen down the vibrations.

Clamps? No clamps on this beast. THAT might be it.

Hmmm... any chance of anyone having a picture of said clamps in place on a 2.5? I ccan easily manufacture them - 2.5D 110 engines are a bit thin on the ground here in the States.
