Hello,

Whilst I was down at my local specialists sorting out my timing belt earlier on today, the mechanics and another customer mentioned a few 2.5 turbo petrol engined vehicles that they had been messing about with quite a few years back. This is the first I've ever heard about turbo charging the old 2.5 petrol engine and I have to say, I am completely fascinated! Apparently Allard used to sell a kit many years ago which would allow the user to install a turbo charger to reap comparable power to a V8. I've had a google and I cant find anything on this, and there is no trace on YouTube either, sooo, does anyone have any more information that they can shed on this? Maybe some photos or a video? :D

Sounds awesome!

Not sure I see the point of turbo charging the 2.5 petrol, before you start the engine was worse on fuel than the V8, then you gona turbo it, my guess is you wont gain economy and you wont get the V8 torque or noise! so my conclusion is if you want a petrol landy, by a V8 (I did) and if you want a 2.5 turbo Landy buy the diesel (I also have!) Maybe its me being narrow minded but seems like a lot of hassle and trouble to gain absolutly fooook all??

I've got a 200tdi, so no plans for swapping, I am just very interested. Apparently, the 2.5 turbo petrol engine could produce the same amount of torque and horsepower, and it would reach the same kind of speeds  can you see my interest yet!?
