Right, on a serious note guys, for the benifit of anyone who doesn't know who may be buying or selling said engine.
If seen running and proof of milage and servicing provided how much would this be worth in reality. £50, £100, £200 ???

If and only if it was smoke free, reasonable mileage and some kind of guarantee you weren't a ****e merchant £75-£100
Bear in mind the 19j engine isn't economical,particularly reliable compared to a 200tdi.

Well, shouldn't you have asked first then, or found out the rough value before trying to chance it on this forum?
As Fanatic says, a good one is perhaps worth £75 to someone who hasn't got the cash for a 200 tdi conversion, but that is ONLY if it truely is a good one - there are VERY few of them left that are in what I would call serviceable condition.
That's about the score, provided it didn't smoke,burn oil,breath heavy or overheat.
After seeing several poor souls ripped off by people specifically joining to flog stuff- the regulars end up helping sort out the fail out.
If your a genuine type, you'll understand our concerns and be glad as a forum member we care enough to try and protect others from unscrupulous individuals.

Off to while away the workhours under a blanket...
not personally, be aware a discovery box can't be converted to defender spec-without stripping the box almost completely and swapping selectors.

Or get a 'fender engine if you can find one - makes the conversion a hell of a lot easier then.
No engine and defender long stick box (lt77 defender or R380defender)
If you fit disco short stick you loose centre seat and it's not special
