Depends if you mean an old 19j 2.5 Turbo Diesel, a 200 TDI or a 300 TDI.

19j Turbos and 200 TDIs have LT77 gearboxes, and 300 TDIs have R380 gearboxes.

Over-pricing?? A 200 tdi is worth 200-250 all day long and much more appealing than a td.
