2.5 N/A Diesel into a series One 80

My non-standard 80 currently has a Series 3 petrol engine in it. I am planning on fitting a 2.5 N/A diesel engine I've got out of an early Ninety into it. . Would like a little more economy so I am tempted to use it more. I just wondered if anyone had already done this. I realise there will be a certain amount of fabrication and extra wiring etc but exactly what needs doing is still a little unknown.

i wouldnt bother ,fit 200 tdi instead similar work ,more economical more power no more noisy

I've got a 2.5 N/A in my series 3, only fitted it because I got it for pretty much nothing. Big improvement on the 2.25 I had before, but given the choice I would have gone down the 200tdi route instead, might still do that.
