2.5 gearbox

Hello ,quick question what type of auto box is in my 98 2.5dhse? is it the same as the 4 litre box? i.e. zf4hp22 and is the torque converter the same too?

The box is the same but I believe that the diesel has got the smallest of the three torque convertors possible. For some good reason to do with diesel engines, not just money. I know that I read it somewhere but that doesn't mean I understood it. Might have been on Ashcroft's website.

Diesel torque converter is 260mm diameter and the 4.0 petrol is 280mm. Seems post 1999my 4.6 is the same as the 4.0 (see the attachment taken from rave)
