as title,
in the middle of everything on my series 2 i picked another engine up for a mate, (non runner) got it in the workshop bout 9 tonight, took timing case off and it dint look right to me ! yer just dunt kno whos been playin with them do yer !
looking front on, the key in the crank points up hill (90* to the block )
thats piston 1 top D C
the cam is punched with a timing mark, this is on the same point as the key on the chaft, it SHOULD be exactly oposite the key !
so if i pull the cam gear off and turn the cam half a turn leaving the crank in the same position then fit the gear back on chain and tensioner back on ,
its ready to run ? or not? how i see it is the cam is half a turn backwards so if i foreward it half a turn were somewhere near ! or does it need to go backwards ?
any ideas?
cheers
