Hey Boris, you must be doing things right, James is using "smileys" :D:D:);):p

he is a helpfull bloke.

what he doesnt know is when i have a working landy i have an eval plan to kidnap him, remove his brain and plumb it into the truck and install a vocal processor.
i will have the first semi intelligent land rover that offers the fool working on it sound advice as he fiddles!
that will remove the smileys:):):):):):):).

as for the engine change, still not finished. when i cleaned all the bits under the floor panels i found that new outriggers had been fitted and only welded up each side not along the top or bottom, you could wiggle them up and down a good bit. so i have removed most of the tub (finding all outriggers the same) cleaned, welded properly, painted and wax oiled, put it back together and so hope to finish the engine change today. on the +ve side the mig was set at 140amps and didnt burn a single hole, so the chassis is solid.

in and running. no smoke, nice even idle and not a single oil leak.

only thing i want to try is to hook up the solenoid to use it with the standard ignition, any ideas?
i cant just run it from the ignition switch main as its not live while cranking, and cant attach it to switch main and starter feed as then the starter will turn all the time, hefty diode on starter circuit and a feed from main? or is there a simpler way?
