Hello all - looking for some expert advice.
The donor head I fitted to my 2.5 recently came from a 2.25 series.
It was fitted with injectors, which I replaced with my originals.
I've checked the markings on both sets of injector bodies and nozzles - they seem to be the same.
I've also checked the parts manuals - again they seem the same. Is this correct? I thought the bigger engine would need a slightly different nozzle.
If they are the same, I have a full set of spare injectors - which are in better nick that my originals. If they're not the same, they'll be sold.

only the stroke is longer ,bores are the same diameter ,injectors are the same ,dont forget bottom steel washer its that that seals cylinder and a poor /leaking one will quickly kill the nozzle, dont fit any were there is no evidence of a good sealing ,ie a clean ring around bottom of nozzle

Thanks James. The steel washers were all missing from the 2.5, and I was having issues with sealing on the injectors. The engine has obviously not been cared for in the past.
I've stripped all the injectors from the donor 2.25 - all look to be in excellect condition, pintles moving smoothly and clean tips as you describe. I've washed/cleaned them all in injector fluid and set them aside as spares. They had been installed with the steel washers.
I had installed a brand new injector as part of the rebuild, the stripped down one from the 2.5 revealed a lot of blueing of the pintle, which I guess means overheating. The engine is now running very smoothly, although I haven't had the chance to take it on a decent run yet to check if I have finally cured the gas leak into the coolant. No sign of anything tesing at the house.
I've also found a great video that explains the pintle type injector operation. As a lifelong petrol driver, it's been interesting to learn the finer details of how a diesel works. The injector pump in particular is a piece of mechanical art. Must try to get an old one to strip.
