Evening all!
Really hoping my 110s engine hasn't had it but I'm going to post what happened and see if anyone has any advice/ideas:

Right so parked up, sounded a bit rough but nothing mad, no smoke or loss of power etc....turned her off and went shopping.

Started her up, oil pressure light came on so I started rummaging for my code reader to get some more information......but it cut off, and wouldn't turn over.....we are talking like 2 to 3 minutes of running with the light on, and there was oil in it.

After that wouldn't turn over at all, just set the alarm off everytime I tried.

RAC came, couldn't work it out, sent for low loader.

Low loader came.....guy had a pretty impressive jump pack and it turned over, ran then cut off. Low loaded home, he advised could be an earth.

Checked transfer box earth and it's fine.

Now when I go to turn over it just clicks like there isn't enough power, so the starter is trying to engage.

Removed started to check it, absolute pig of a job and guess what, starter works fine with a set of jump leads.

So that's what happened, what are the next things to check, it's a 65 plate by the way.

I'm hoping it's not seized but I have a terrible feeling it is.

Thanks in advance guys.

Does it turn over by hand?
I am not sure why the RAC or recovery guy would run an engine with the oil pressure light on.
It might have had plenty of oil but if it isn't circulating around the engine then it's not doing much good.
You will need to stick it in a garage to investigate the problem I'm afraid.

I did think about turning it by hand but without sounding daft I'm used to TDI and td5 so when I saw 3 bolts on the crank pulley I wondered how the hell I was going to do that.....

Is there anything that can "jam" a TDCI if it's not actually seized

No idea, I am also more used to a 200tdi or TD5 🤣

Crankshaft apparently.
Regardless running an engine knowing it has an oil pressure issue is probably not the best look for the recovery guy.
yeah I agree there!

I looked and yeah the pump is chain driven in the sump, so I'm hoping maybe the pump has jammed up so I'm going to order one and get the sump off and check!

Thank you guys, will keep you posted
