Hello all,

I just got an auction car (2013 defender 110 2.2 TDCi) with nice MOT history and engine limp mode. When I got the car I started the engine once then it never runs again. While running it got white and blue smoke. I used OBD to check the code. It shows:
P00BC Low airflow/
P2263 Turbo Pressure/
P0101 P0100 Cant measure Air flow/
P0113 Intake air temp sensor and 1 pending code which is P0304 Cylinder 4 misfire.

Then I open the bonnet, I found the wire of the turbo actuator has been cut and the connector is missing.

Now my worries are:
Could the blue smoke be caused by the turbo and air intake problems described by Fault codes?
Or it may be the mechanical damage in the engine?
For example, failure of cylinder valves? wear of cylinder wall due to piston ring damage?
Or more likely due to the failure of the injector and gasket?

Also, the car's fuel tank cap is missing. Will the impurities in the fuel tank cause the blockage of the oil circuit, resulting in a misfire of cylinders and oil burning?

All codes point to lack of boost. So need to fix the turbo actuator before worrying about anything else. P0304 indicates injector problem, but sort turbo first and see if that clears it up. Fuel filter should have sorted any crap getting into the tank from reaching the fuel system. Change the filter for genuine one as a matter of course. There may be damage to the turbo to engine hoses, and the intercooler so inspect them thoroughly. Have a search through the tdci section in the engines forum, there have been a few threads on these issues.
If the worst case scenario turns out to be a knackered engine or turbo, these can be found at delivery milage for quite sensible money as quite a few are being blinged up into Chelsea tractors with bigger engines and fancy trims.

Forgot to attach these in previous post

Thanks a lot, pal. Previously I was under the pressure of needing to overhaul or replace the engine. After listening to your analysis, I seem to be relieved. I will troubleshoot the above issues step by step. However, If the check engine light is still on or the engine works weak, should I check the cylinder pressure first? What do you think is the probability of the cylinder or cy;linder wall being damaged?

Thank you!!!
Harry

If the check engine light is still on
Then clear the fault codes with your diagnostics tool. I am just suggesting dealing with the obvious faults first ie the lack of boost. It would be daft for me to guess what problems there are with the engine. Have to take it step by step.

Yeah, You're right. As I was always worried too much;-(
Great thanks.
