hi,can any one help me,i took my freelander in to garage and have new drive shaft done and mot. I got phone call to say all done, i then payed got in my car put it revearse and no revearse gear, all other gears fine they then changed xyz censor they then changed oil please help me i need my car back on the road asap many thanks jerry.

when they changed the driveshaft they lost some oil, when they topped it up they removed the wrong plug, the mechanism for reverse gear is now dangling inside the box, which will need to be stripped to fix it , good luck it is their fault and they will need to fix it, it might be better for them to send it to an auto specialist, as they have got it so wrong!

it is a very easy fix once box is off ,you remove t/c housing ,oil pump ,lift large gear out ,reattach clutch band ,only hard bit is removing gearbox,the complicated parts are on other side of box
