2” lift on standard disco 2

Righttttt I wanna chuck a 2” lift on my standard D2, seen nice set of terrafirma springs & shocks, but was thinking about getting the 3” lift blocks aswell, question is how much do I need too change underneath?

I know about extended break lines but can never get a straight answer and was wondering if anyone has a relatively straight forward list of parts?

Prefebly I’m Lamans terms as I’m not mechanically gifted in the slightest lol

Will mostly be doing greenlaning and maybe a few Pay & Play days but it is also my every day motor... this being my first Land Rover I’ve owned that I want too change parts on (or pay someone too do it )

For almost all of the legal green lanes in the UK the Disco 2 is a pretty capable vehicle in stock trim.
The first question you need to ask yourself is why do you feel a lift is necessary, Then take a look at this page by @300bhp/ton, a well respected off-roader:-

I agree with Brian, nearly all green lanes in the UK will be easily drivable without a lift. However, I am planning a 2" lift in the long term. I'm only wanting to do it so I can fit some slightly larger tyres to give the difs a bit more clearance (last trip to Snowdonia, I only got stuck once, and that was due to not enough clearance for the difs due to ruts caused by farm vehicle). I've even done an pay and play day and did very well. The only mod's I'd done was to fit mud terrain tyres (moved up from 235/70R16 to 245/70R16) and under body protection, such as dif guards, transmission guard and fuel tank guard.

I'd say you're probably better off investing in the under body protection first, and maybe a heavy duty front and rear bumpers with decent recovery points as standard towing hitches aren't really strong enough for some recovery on green lanes or P&P sites........although if you're sensible when you drive on by ways etc, you shouldn't really need to be recovered (unless you've bottomed out).

Cheers for advice, would wanna lift for the bigger tyres but to be honest I also just love the look & feel of driving a lifted vechicle, that’s why I wanted too know what parts I’d need etc.

I must admit, the D2 does look rather good with a lift!!!
One mistake some people do make is to do the suspension lift without extending things like your break lines, breathers etc. I'd definitely say do the job properly to begin with rather than have headaches later down the line.

I do the opposite now. I have bought my car with lift and winch and as I have to take it to MOT now I will need to remove and change back everithing. And to be honest I have never needed the winch and the lift since I got the car (one year).
