Just insured my Freelander with them, 3PFT. I am 25, wife is 28, I have 7 yrs no claims, no accidents/convictions.

£282, or if i want to add NCD protection...

£289 :D

FC cover was an extra £80, but ATEOTD, if I spank it, ill keep the car for salvage, and break it. Get more money back that way than getting market value for an S plate Freelander ;)

And no, I didnt even bother trying Adrian Flux for a quote...

You might not need it but a warning just in case - 1st Central don't give you 3rd party coverage on other vehicles. It's not clear when you sign up but I came across it in the terms when checking for something else.

I found out that very fact last year when using 1st central, paid my money only to find I wasnt covered to drive other vehicles 3rd party under my fully comp policy when I checked the clauses.

Changed to Lancaster insurance this year due to price, £198 fully comp on a disco Td5 but suppose being nearly 40 with 8years no claims helps :)

Having a few problems with this outfit atm.
Having beaten all other quotes by £40+, insured with them paid in full.
Then e-mailed copy of licence and proof of NCB as requested.

Have now sent it, and had automated acknowledgement 5 times, spoken to a "Customer service" operator twice, a manager once, all of whom have acknowledged receipt, and then got an e-mail telling me they were going to cancel my insurance due to non receipt, and charge me £75 admin fee!

The problem is apparently not that they haven't received it, but that they haven't "validated" it.

Surely that's their problem, not mine?

Apparently I will get a call back before close of business tomorrow, and they definitely won't cancel my insurance until the complaint has been dealt with, so that's good of them.

Guess who won't be getting my business again

they are cheap, but they charge an "admin fee" for just about everything, change of adress, change of vehicle. it's obscene

then, when you come to renew (done this twice now), they send you the renewal quote, but if you go on moneysupermarket.com and run a quote they will be top of the list about £25 cheaper than the renewal! Why? Because there's a £25 admin fee for renewal. Take the michael why don't ya
