So will me & Minty weather permitting. If it's too bad to drive the site We'll just camp for the weekend.

Friends in Dolgellau & Blaenau Ffestiniog, are saying all the minor roads are blocked solid and closed due to the snow. and the major ones aren't much better :( Hopefully it'll melt but Knowing that area like I do. I doubt it'll get much better before Friday.

Better grab ya self an ex army artic sleeping bag. Kept me toasty last nght in temps of -4 (prob colder with the wind chill.)

Aye, but... its whether I can make it down from up here I is in the frozen north......:( But fingers crossed it looks like its meltin slightly today.. temp is up and its windy.. so it might be gone in a couple of days. :D

Ackshirley now I've seen the forecast for your area you're gonna be getting 4-6 inches today Mintz, I shall now retreat to my corner and put my conical hat with a big 'D' back on :D

where's the fooking fun in writing off ya sole means of transport, in a vain attempt to make yaself look like some sort of macho fookwit??? in front of a group of people who's opinions don't actually matter 1 fooking iota..

Very well put, my Disco is my sole means of transport so couldn't agree more.
I get more sense of achievement from going off road and not returning home on the back of a recovery truck, cheaper too if you hold off a little bit and don't break anything ;)

And we have yet more snow on the way, another front is coming up from the southwest so Mid Wales is gonna remain white and possibly get hammered with another big dump of the white stuff....

As it stands we are expecting about 10mm of torrential rain Saturday afternoon around Barmouth/Dolgellau.

BUT....that could indeed turn to snow.

Our site is rock based within a forest of firs. so I am only expecting to close the rather exposed extreme hill decent in the event of ice or snow.

But that will not be apparent until Friday when we survey the site.

Been let down by the a*seholes I was meant to be coming with but me and a mate still coming in my disco for the weekend if we can tag along with someone on the site as won't have anybody to pull me out if/when get stuck.

TBF I'm not actually bothered if I don't get to have a play if the weather is bad. As long as thers plenty of mate, beer, BBQ and fire il be well happy!

Gwynedd council have cleared the road from Llwyngwril LL37 up to the forest for this weekend extravaganza.

From Dolgellau take the A493 sign posted Tywyn, as the road climbs out of Fairbourne take the first turning LEFT at the top of the hill before the village of Llwyngwril and by the bus stop.

Follow the road until you reach the forest.

It just should not be missed.
