HELP please my 1999 p38 dhse wont start when temps go down to minus figures fitted new glow plugs, when unlocked comes up ignition tamper on screen turn key engin turns over no start both times drvrs door lock froze up but only happened so far in 1 place, once everything is resynced it is ok for a few days any ideas?????

Forcing frozen door lock will make the BECM think the RR is under attack, hence msg. Spray all you can on moving lock parts with silicone (furniture polish will do it), graphite powder best for key slot, silicone or WD if not. Need to check battery for sure, a weak/poor battery will give the same, and other, issues!

yes that makes sence both times was after snow then thaw then -8 temps had to pull handles a few times to open, now head lights are flashing (bat low i expect) would a radio signal scramble becm so it un synchronises?

Can do; if u suspect that then disconnect the blue wire from RF receiver. From that which say, I suspect new battery and stop lock freezing will be more likely IMHO!

New lock just as likely to freeze as an old one once the grease etc has worn off!
If you look at offside rear window you'll see radio antenna wire in glass; open tailgate, take out parcel shelf & climb in. Fold offside rear seat forward. Remove 3 plastic clips and 1 phillips screw holding plastic trim, ease upward and youl see RF and Radio aerial units, immediately behind rear seat release buttun. Carefully disconnect single BLUE wire from RF unit then re-assemble in reverse.
Key fobs will still work, just need to be much closer to rear offside to pick-up! Stops RF picking up spurious signals from WiFi Routers, phone masts etc

I would replace battery first, .......like now!!! Low/poor battery will cause many issues - get a new one first and foremost. stop lock freezing, then if really needed disconnect blue wire..........one thing at a time or it'll take ages and cost loads!
