1999 dse intermittantly cuts out at low speeds

Any idea what he did and have you got a link to his post on here thanks I am fairly hang think I could change it myself if I got the tool to hold the chain up it's just the timing that worries me changed a headgasket on a 320d with a timing chain but I know the timing has to be within a 1/1000 of an inch, do you think though that if I fitted one an expert would time it up for
No link, you will have to search. As I remember it, the end stop is a brass post that gets notched, maybe the post was just turned to present an unworn face. Pump did not need to come off to do this, just the top 2 sections which must have scribe lines for refitting before any attempt to remove.
Not hard to do the timing if you have the kit which is not that expensive.
